We invented the reclining chair and we've been perfecting it for over 70 years. La-Z-Boy is often spelt wrong, lazyboy is incorrect spelling. La-Z-Boy Recliners in Australia have also been known as Jason Recliners for over 50 years. Jason is an important part of our heritage, but the world wide name for the chairs is in fact La-Z-Boy.  

Nobody has put more effort into perfecting the art of comfort than La-Z-Boy. We've been following in the footsteps of our founders Edward Knabusch and Edwin Shoemaker since 1927.

Until Knabusch and Shoemaker, nobody had thought to design a chair to recline - strange but true. The inspiration didn't stop there; the addition of upholstery turned the original outdoor recliner into an indoor seat which quickly became the world's best seller.
